Never tired of their own praises they sang.
Anger, greed and lust decided to form a gang.
“Ego”, they agreed on a name.
Kidnapping, their main game.
They invited arrogance to also hang.

For their first victim, they picked on Soul.
She and Universe were trying to be whole.
But through manipulation one day.
Soul unfortunately fell prey.
Ego gang achieved their terrible goal.

Soul was brought to a city made of gold.
But she kept yearning for her companion of old.
With her longing peaking.
And Universe also seeking.
Devotion was summoned to the fold.

Soul wanted to merge with Universe’s light.
Devotion also tried to make things right.
But Ego was strong.
It saw nothing as wrong.
It wasn’t going down without a fight.

Universe annihilated Ego and eventually won.
But without Devotion, it couldn’t be done.
Devotion emerged as the hero.
It helped diminish Ego to zero.
Universe and Soul merged into One.
